Nathalie Jolivert
Nathalie Jolivert is an architect and artist based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and trained at the Rhode Island School of Design. In her architectural practice, Nathalie is interested in design solutions that value tradition, material history, culture and community involvement. Growing up in Haiti, a developing country with a rich yet complex culture, Nathalie realizes the importance of innovation in finding answers. Nathalie’s design process is often inspired by local stories which she incorporates throughout her projects.
Mahalia Stines
Mahalia is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer based in Brooklyn, NY. She draws her inspiration from her homeland of Haiti and calls her work “Brooklyn meets the Tropics”. Her favorite source of inspiration are the Haitian vèvè, ritual diagrams associated with Haitian vodou that are used by many artists in everything from paintings to beaded flags to home decor items.
