Cumbe: Center for African and Diaspora Dance & Haiti Cultural Exchange present a special Contemporary Haitian dance class with choreographer and dancer Jean-René Delsoin.
Founder of Centre et Compaigne de Danse Jean-René Delsoin, his style embraces the traditional mores of Haitian dance while combining modern, jazz, and contemporary dance techniques.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Mr. Delsoin began dance studies in Haiti followed by training at the National School Dance of Jamaica, and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center among other prestigious institutions. His international dance credits include appearances with American choreographer Kevin Lega Jeff’s “Jubilations!”, and a two-year Latin American tour with Dominican singer Angela Carrasco.
