Emma's Mom:

Our older child came out as transgender when Olivia was four.  She immediately said she was transgender too.  She remained consistent, insistent, and persistent for over 11 months when she demanded to socially transition.

I think our daughter is elated to be expressing herself as a trans girl.  I have no idea if this how she will always feel, but she claims that's the case. She can't wait for her hair to grow and enter kindergarten as a long-haired girl.

It's been a challenge. Everyone quickly assumes she just is mimicking her brother.  He has received a lot of attention, acclaim, and praise for being so brave and asking to transition.

I've felt the difference in my daughter transitioning to my son, vs. my son transitioning to my daughter.  I noticed how much more uncomfortable it is to have a transgender daughter.  I know that is because of our society, but I felt that in myself and then was angry I felt such emotions.

Being transgender is simply one aspect of her, and definitely not the most interesting. That isn't what is extraordinary about that person, it's just one aspect.
